Der Ausscheidende Bundesverkehrsminister Herr Peter Ramsauer (CSU) wurde zum neuen Präsidenten der Arabisch-Deutschen Handelskammer (Ghorfa) gewählt. Die Wahl fand in Berlin anlässlich der Vollversammlung der Ghorfa am Dienstag statt. Der langjährige Präsident, Thomas Bach, hatte sein Amt mit seiner Wahl zum Präsidenten des Internationalen Olympischen Komitees (IOC) niedergelegt. Als erste Amtshandlung eröffnet Herr Ramsauer als gewählter Präsident am Donnerstag das „17th Arab-German Business Forum” im Palmenhof des Silbersaal mit über Siebenhundert Teilnehmern aus Wirtschaft, Politik und Presse. Die Ghorfa Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry setzt sich dafür ein, dass ihre Mitglieder teilhaben an den großen Chancen, die Ihnen der arabische Markt bietet. Entscheidend für den Erfolg sind ein starkes Netzwerk, wertvolle Kontakte, interkulturelle Kompetenz sowie regelmäßige Präsenz in der deutsch-arabischen Geschäftswelt.
